Killian's 6th Birthday!

On Thursday, May 2, 2013 my youngest son Killian turned 6 years old. Today is Tuesday May 7th and I am still shaking my head...where has the time gone?! I just can't get over how much of a transition into being a 'big boy' Killian has gone through this year. He is still a little sensitive at times, but for the most part he has really come into his own persoanlity.
On Killian's actual birthday - Clay and I went to school and ate lunch with him. We brought cupcakes and shared them with his class. He and his best bud Logan were so excited and couldn't wait for me to pass them out.
Logan & Killian

On Saturday - May 4, we had a birthday party for him. Every kid that Killian wanted to invite had at least 2 siblings. I knew there was going to be over 20 kids at the house & sure enough there was 27!
I didn't want them all playing upstairs - so I rented a bouncy house. Why didn't I think of this before?! The kids loved it! I rented it from 1-5p and they didn't come out of the bouncer until the guy came back to take it down. :) We will definitely be doing this again.

Here are some pictures from the party. Fortunately, I had a few people taking photos. Unfortunately, Clay was one of them so he isn't in any of the photos!

Awesome Cake by Uncle Luke (my brother)

I bought the action figures as part of Killian's gifts and used them on the cake.

The bouncy house was a big hit with all the kids. There were a couple of injuries, but for the most part they weren't too beat up.

I had to make them come inside for cake. They reminded me of termites on wood.  They swooshed in, sang happy birthday, opened gifts really quickly and swooshed back outside to the bouncy house.

Im telling Killian to 'think real hard about what he wants to wish for'...

He is so serious making this wish :)

Killian loved all of his presents! Normally I am down on the floor with them while they open gifts, but not this time. I get clostraphobic as the kids get closer and closer... so this time I sat off to the side in a chair. :)

He loved all his gifts!
His friend Ryleigh bought him a monster toy...

Hugging and thanking Ryleigh :)
We tried to get a group shot of the party peeps...

Killian told me it was the "BEST birthday Ever!!!" I'm so glad...I hope it will be a great memory for him to look back on.

Happy Birthday to my little Bubba!
We love you so much!
Now stop growing up on me!

Easter 2013

I know it is already 3 days past Easter and I am just now getting around to writing this post. Oh Well, It is spring break. :) It's been really nice not having to get up so early.

Easter was really nice. We went to our church in town and then drove down to Florence to spend some time with the family. Here are a few pictures from the day...I didn't take as many as I wanted - but at least I didn't forget my camera this time!

These are a few shots I got before church. There are only a few good ones, because the kids were rubbing their eyes from the glare of the sun. Oh well...

My sweet Family :)

Pretty Mackenzie

The 3 Amigos

So before we left for Florence - everyone changed their clothes except Mackenzie. She wanted to show everyone her beautiful dress. She brought her sneakers to wear so she could be 'super fast' in the egg hunt.

They played on the swing set while waiting for the hunt to begin. Killian is so silly...always the comedian.

He had Pearson laughing so hard!

Once the hunt began, they were so serious...TOO serious. They were way too competitive this year. I think this might be the last year for the hunt, unless they prove to be better sports. :(

Check out her sneakers...lol

'Running like Sonic'
This kid was way too quick. He found the most and found the golden egg!
We have a big egg that is painted gold and has stickers on it. The one who finds it gets an extra piece of candy. We usually do the hunt 3 times so all the kids get a chance to find the golden egg. But this year we did not. Take a look at this next picture and you will be able to tell very quickly why we didn't continue...lol

She was extremely furious mad.

Oh well, we celebrated Jesus rising from the grave and that was the most important part of Easter. The kids really understood all of it this year. They actually watched 'The Bible' on the History channel. At first I thought it might be a little too gory for them - but no. I feel they are old enough to see and understand the reality of what happened to Jesus. That is something I don't think we can really sugar-coat.

The Lord has Risen!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter as well. I can't wait to catch up on your weekend. :)

Finish the Sentence

Today I am linking up with Holly @ Where we can Live like Jack and Sally.  She is one funny chick!

1. If calories didn't count, I would eat... cookies & drink milk all day long.  My husband says that's a kid thing to do...oh well!

2. On my Prom night.... I went with my boyfriend at the time.  We had a blast dancing the night away.  We went out to eat with a group of people - I think? oh my...my memory is terrible. The one thing I do remember is getting a terrible rash from a new tanning bed lotion I had used. So I had to wear sandals that night, because pantyhose were not happening! I sure wish I still looked like this. And I thought I was 'fat' at the time...LOL somebody please smack me!

3. When I go to the store, I always buy... milk. We are forever running out of milk. Seriously...I buy 5 gallons a week! 2 - Whole milk (Killian), 2 - 2% milk (Pearse & Kenzie), 1 - skim milk (me & Clay). Sounds ridiculous right?!

4. Family functions typically... are very laid back. We eat a lot of food, sit around & talk, and nap.

5. I think my blog readers... are funny and awesome! I wish I did know more of you in real life :)

6. I'd much rather be.... in an expensive hotel in Rome, Italy.  Getting ready to go out to lunch and do lots of shopping.

7. I have an obsession with.... books. I can't help it. I am always reading and right now my obsession, with my obsession, is detective novels.

8. My work friends.... I guess would be school parents. I do not work in an office & get paid. I volunteer at my kids' school - it's work..I just don't get paid for it.. The parents are great most of the time.

9. When I created my Facebook account.... I originally didn't like it at all.  I thought myspace was better...ha! At first I added every acquaintance I had ever known...now? Only close friends and family. :) Clay and I share an account, because I use it more than he does but he still likes to get on every once in a while.

10. My least favorite word is... quash...as in 'quash a subpoena'. I hate that word...absolutely hate it!

11. I really don't remember.... funerals. I don't know why, but I can never remember anything about them - even going to funerals. I must have a deep issue with denial of death.

12. Justin Bieber.... wait? who is he? just kidding ;) He is completely non-existent in my world...lol
