Addicted to Sam's

In some of my past posts, I know I have raved about how much I love Sam's Club.  Well, I am gonna do it again today.  I don't know whether this is a good thing or a bad thing, but my whole family is addicted to Sam's. 

 We try to only go once a month, but that is becoming harder and harder.  Especially when the kids ask to go there to eat! Yes...they consider this a treat.

Of course we don't let them eat every time we go, but it has to be one of the cheapest treats they get.  We can spend less than $8 for 3 hot dogs, 2 slices of pizza, and 3 icees. That's pretty cheap. And the food is pretty good....can't believe I am saying that.

The bulk of our food and paper products last for a little more than a month from Sam's.  Everything is super-sized - so it lasts a good while for my family of 5.  On average, a regular grocery store trip would cost about $350 every 2 weeks.  I can spend $700 1 time at Sam's for the month and get triple the amount.  I wish I would have done this when my kids were in diapers! That is one of Clay's ONLY 'I told you so' moments (sorry Hunny). About 4 years ago, he said 'we need to go check out Sam's'...my response? I'm sure it all balances out to cost the same & the packaging just tricks you.  Clay if you are reading this...you were right. There I said it. 

Just a side thought - is it just me or does it seem like every time a bunch of kids get ready to eat - they look like termites on wood from a cartoon? That's what mine look like.

'Mommy I'm hungry...' 

'May I have some milk?' 

'I ate all my food..can I have a treat now?' 

And like a flash - they are wiping their faces & hands...and have asked to be excused from the table.  

And then just maybe...my food will still be edible.  I can't remember the last time I had a hot meal all to myself.  Why do I say 'to myself?' Well, if I get a chance to eat a hot meal - it's guaranteed that one of my children will ask to have some of my food.  Oh well, I guess that's what date night is for. :)

I can tell most of you are making the most of your summer.  We have been busy visiting with family and friends & we still have a lot of fun stuff coming up.  So if you are wondering where I have been lately - just trying to make the most of summer break before school starts again.  As a kid, the summer seemed so long & as an adult? Well, 3 months feels like 3 weeks!
